- . - * Ad Infinitum * - .
-
-
- Welcome to the second of the last two of my mods ever to be released in the
- UK. I happen to be emigrating to New Zealand very shortly after my exams
- are finally over. This year has been a very trying year for me and I've had
- no chance to do the number of tunes I intended to do.
-
- I had aimed to do a few remixes of well known C64 tunes and famous heavy
- metal groups. So much for that!
-
- "Ad Infinitum" is a short mod which I composed after seriously looking into
- how the C64 used to produce its sounds. My main addiction here was the use
- of pulse width modulation in order to generate those fuzzy sounds. The
- quality isn't to the standard at which I'd like -so Ray and Teijo, take
- note -I suggest you increase the number of words you allow per OctaMED
- synth waveform. Your current number is insufficient ans a serious drawback.
- I did actually produce better quality synthetic sounds myself using a small
- program to generate the progressive waveform and save it as a sample. But
- I haven't used these samples in this mod. as it would be have been defeating
- my objective -to write a chip tune using OctaMED. Task accomplished! :-)
-
- Anyway folks, bye-bye goes my Internet connection so that'll be the end of
- my mods for a long time. I'll be separated from my Amiga for up to 12 weeks
- anyway, so no more mods! :-( Maybe just as well! :-)
-
- Okay then, time to say goodbye to everyone I've met over the past three
- years and of course thank you to everyone who has encouraged me with my
- music since I began.
-
- I would like to thank the following people for their support and interest:
-
- Chris:
-
- Your feedback has always been useful even though I don't like that
- crap you listen to!
-
-
- Ssilk:
-
- The question always remains -would I have continued without yourself
- taking an interest? Probably not, I was ready to give up after
- "White Night" back in 1992. Thanks for staying in touch. :-)
-
- Nick "Gimme Modz" (aka Gruel):
-
- Here's my chipmod which I mentioned to you.
-
- Ray Burt-Frost:
-
- Many thanks for the OctaMED support, Ray. The manual has been
- invaluable for my last two mods. You should still receive mods from
- me in the future; I hope you will be able to maintain my Aminet
- uploads. BTW, I've enjoyed our little chats. Your interest has been
- much appreciated. I also hope that this mod in particular will be of
- benefit to other musicians in the MUG. There seems to be a serious
- lack of nice chip-tunes produced with MED, so I hope this will
- encourage others to have a go.
-
- Peter Kunath:
-
- Thanks for the information regarding alternative chip-tune editors.
- I have still to produce something decent with that editor you sent me
- via post, but you'll receive the results when they appear. And to
- other people reading this, DeliTracker is an excellent all purpose
- mod-player -I strongly recommed you register for this program unless
- you prefer to use the individual editors like myself.
-
- Chainsaw Baron:
-
- What can I say? :-) Thanks for uploading this tune. Our tastes in
- music are different but they seem to have the same foundations! I
- hope you like this tune anyway, you've an idea of what I've been
- putting up with lately and getting this tune out of the way has not
- been easy. Thanks. I hope you'll appreciate the nostalgic sounds
- in this short mod!
-
-
- As for the usual rubbish I stick in these .readme's, well there aren't
- going to be any addresses for you all to get in touch with me as I'll
- be long gone from the UK by August 1995. If there are any of you out there
- who wish to contact me via email, you can do so if you're quick:
-
- P.D.Spark@durham.ac.uk
-
- Also, I don't care what any of you do with this tune as long as it retains
- its source of origin. Most of all, spread it as best you can with all the
- rest of my mods.
-
- Bye folks!
-
- Sparky.
